Dimitri A. Ivanov

Research Director at the French CNRS at
the ‘Institut de Sciences des Matériaux de Mulhouse’

Dimitri Ivanov is a Research Director at the French CNRS at the ‘Institut de Sciences des Matériaux de Mulhouse’- IS2M (UMR 7361). He graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1988 and received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry of polymers at the Institute of Physical Chemistry (Russian Academy of Sciences) in 1992.

He had held permanent positions in Russia and Belgium before joining the CNRS in France. Dimitri Ivanov is author and co-author of more than 150 publications, he served as PI in research projects supported by the major scientific funding agencies in Belgium and France, as well as by the European Commission. He has extensive international collaborations, including research groups from leading universities in Germany, USA and Russia where he was awarded a MegaGrant project from the Russian Ministry of Science and Education aimed at creating a new experimental laboratory at Moscow State University.

The research of Dimitri Ivanov revolves around the physics of semicrystalline and liquid-crystalline polymers, and he is also involved in instrumental development such as in-situ combination of ultra-fast nanocalorimetry and synchrotron X-ray diffraction, to study fast structure formation processes in organic and hybrid materials.
