Award sessions
On Monday 8 November the Challa Polymer Prize for best Dutch dissertation was awarded on behalf of the KNCV Section Macromolecules. The winner of this edition was Dr. Hanne van der Kooij from the University of Wageningen. The prize includes a certificate and €1500. Following the presentation of the Challa Prize, Hanne gave a lecture on the work carried out during her PhD research, entitled “Let there be light: Quantitative imaging of nanoscale dynamics in polymer materials”.
On Tuesday 9 November the PTN Medema Lecture Award was awarded on behalf of PTN. Brigitte Voit was, already in 2020, awarded the PTN Medema Lecture Award. The award is named after Dick Medema, who was the former R&D director at Shell. After retirement, he took the position of chairman at PTN. He was considered a binding force and a great inspiration within the Dutch polymer community. Jan van Hest (PTN) finally had the chance to present the award to her on the last day of the conference before she gave a plenary lecture.
Brightlands Polymer Days 2021 Award ceremonies
Jury members have been specifically selected per track to select the best oral and best poster presentation of talented and visionary young academic researchers. The prize includes a certificate and €125.
